My latest obsession with color
Orange before and after Midnight Blue
It’s no secret that I love big, happy hues.
Lush green, sunny yellow, pretty pink, and of course everyone’s favorite, the beloved blue.
This may sound strange but furniture usually tells me what color it’s meant to be. And, I usually have no problem deciding what to paint it. But, my latest project was a little different.
This armoire was the first piece of furniture the hubs and I bought together, almost 20 years ago. We bought it at Arhaus and paid a pretty penny. I really love it’s old, rustic style then and now. It’s served us well but the orange-y wood stain had to go. I was over it! Finally last week, after almost 2 years of contemplating what color, what color? It came to me go blue like your favorite pair of old dark blue jeans. So, I did.
A couple of thin dry brushed coats of Paint Couture’s Midnight Blue.
Topped with haphazard brushed strokes of Heritage Grey.
Then I let it dry and I roughed it up a bit with a sanding block. And finshed it off with AS dark and clear wax.
And, now I’m seriously obsessed with Midnight Blue.
How about you? A rich, deep blue. Are you into it, I’d love to hear.
