Make a personal statement in your home with these
3 must-have DIY tips for the perfect gallery wall.
Ok, so there’s that big blank wall in your house
that stares right at you every time you
walk on by.
Maybe it’s more like a
sparse corner calling out for something.
Every time you glance its way.
It feels kind of awkward.
And, it’s a little overwhelming, so you keep going and
try to put it out of your mind.
“oh I’ll figure it out another day….”
Well, today’s the day my friend.
DIY tips for the perfect Gallery Wall
Seriously, creating a gallery wall is a fun opportunity to make a personal statement about who you are and what you like in a not so serious way.
Actually, I think HGTV’s crafty Genevieve Gorder said it best.
“There’s no perfect, magical measurement. It’s how it feels to you.”
I say, dare to mix it up! Create a one-of-a-kind wall display using your favorite artwork, colorful family photos, black & white portraits and memorabilia, mismatched frames, whatever you like…as long as it makes you happy.
First, figure out approximately where you want your largest piece to hang. But keep it fun. Picture a kind of grid, like this just to get your bearings. Then one by one hang, step back and go from there. Keep it fun. And don’t get caught up in perfect spacing and so on.
There’s no such thing as perfect anyway. Do it how you like best.
Oh, and your make-believe grid line doesn’t mean you have to center everything either.
Keep things interesting and remember to save some space for future additions to your new wall gallery.
There you have it.
No more big blank wall. ha!
Oh and you might want to do this project when the hubs is out of the house.
You know how men love to measure everything to the point of being painful. heehee
don’t over think it.
So, are you a gallery kind of gal? Have you created one for yourself or are you thinking about it? I’d love to hear.
