Easy DIY footstool update with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®

Today I’m stepping it up for our monthly themed furniture tour with a few of my favorite DIYers! I like a good challenge and this month it’s numbers. hmm? But how exactly does one incorporate numbers on furniture? Let’s not over think it…here’s my easy DIY footstool update with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® on leather. {pleather is more like it}

Easy DIY Update with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Easy DIY footstool update with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® by Fresh Idea StudioYou may remember (or not) that I painted an upholstered chair with a lovely shade of blue by Annie Sloan earlier this year. Since then I’ve been obsessed with painting wooden furniture with it but I was curious  to see how the Chalk Paint® would do on other something other than wood…hence the faux-leather footstool redo I have for you today.

That’s the before; not in terrible shape but dark and boring nonetheless.

So last weekend cleaned her and slapped on 2 coats of Antibes Green.  Tried a bit of free hand numbering (the jury is still out on how well that went ha! But overall it for a fun and easy way to give a ho-hum footstool a dash of panache.

Oh and after I let the paint dry a couple of hours, I put two thin coats of Modern Masters Dead Flat Varnish so it would be good and protected.

I’m happy to say the paint with on like butter over the pleather and it’s holding up like a charm, so far.
