Decorating for a Hallmark holiday is not cool.
Contrived and cheesy are two words that come to mind actually. I do it because of the
chocolate sweet sentiment it creates in our home.
Make your own Easy Valentines Day Vignette
I have to admit…I’m a huge fan of a cute topiary. And, I had seen something similar in one of the trendy little shops here in my neighborhood but I wasn’t willing to fork over what they were asking.
And, you know what happened next…
I made my own and you can too, if that suits your fancy.
Cool or not; this DIY project was fun!
For my easy Valentine’s Day Vignette, I gathered up some decorative items from around our house like a pretty tray, some beads and a candle and two glass candle sticks to hold the topiaries.
Here’s all you’ll need to make your own cute topiary:
hot glue gun
Next, comes the cutting. Cut, cut, cut lot of strips of fabric.
You can make yours any size you like, mine were about 2 inches wide and 4 long for the most part.
Next is glue time.
Fold each piece of fabric you’ve cut in half, place on the foam cone and hold it in place for a few seconds to let it set.
You don’t want your fabric moving around on you.
Continue gluing, row by row until…viola!
It’s that easy.
Allow the hot glue to dry completely and simply layer the decorative things you’ve gathered for your vignette.
Here’s to all the sweetness cupid brings your way.
