Imagine how awesome you would feel and how productive you could be if your personal work space was a place you actually wanted to be! What if it was a place to be the boss, make things happen, get creative, be happy, thankful and do whatever it is that makes you amazing!
I believe your office – whether inside or outside of your home – should be a place where you can thrive. Since mine wasn’t doing it for me anymore, a mini-makeover was in order.
My fun home office revamp
Now let’s get real.
That’s not what my home office/guest room looked like just the day before.
You know I love an upscale look for less, so I stopped into our neighborhood Big Lots. That’s right, Big Lots! Why? Because I know anytime I want to change things up with a beautiful fresh look, I can count on finding a great selection of home decor items at a fantastic value there.
BEFORE Big Lots
First step to an office revamp?
Purge your piles! Get rid of what you don’t need! I promise this one step will make your mini-makeover come together so much more quickly.
And, AFTER Big Lots:
I’m in love.
Can you feel it?
Here’s the simple approach to revamping your space in your very own style.
What’s the mood or vision you have for your space? Not sure?
Find your inspiration.
Get to the look and feel you want.
For my office makeover, it hit me the second I opened my mailbox…
and spotted this cover of HGTV magazine!
I was swooning and you will be too, but finding inspiration is not always so straightforward. Rest assured that the more you know exactly how you want it to look and feel, the easier it will be.
Use simple solutions.
Organize your work areas and supplies into zones. Streamline by keeping like items together in boxes, bins and drawers.
And, last but not least. The fun part…
Add pops of color.
Mix bold and neutral colors to keep your work space lively and productive. Consider creating a gallery wall with your favorite art and inspirational quotes like I did.
Go with black and white picture frames for a cool but classic vibe.
I found a ton to choose from at Big Lots.
Keep in mind that styles and assortment vary by store, so shop multiple stores if at first you don’t find what you’re looking for.
I found these unexpected beauties too.
I hope you enjoyed my fun home office revamp and that you’re inspired to freshen up your personal work space now. Tell me about it. I’d love to hear.
