kick off Summer with a house tour on Palm Island, Florida

Hope this finds you basking in the glow after celebrating the great freedoms we’ve been afforded by the brave men and woman in our Armed Forces this Memorial Day … and the unofficial start to summertime, today.  I’m excited to bring you a peek into paradise  from one of my favorite places in the entire world! So without further a due,  let’s kick off Summer with a house tour on Palm Island, Florida.Kick off summer with a House Tour on Palm Island FloridaAs we toast the close to a Happy Memorial Day, I have to say, Palm Island’s beaches and sunsets are  spectacular!

Here’s a bird’s eye view of the hidden jewel I’m talking about; aka Palm Island; it’s located right off of the central west coast of Florida.

Palm Island is an hour and 1/2  south of  Tampa Bay and an easy drive.

We discovered Palm Island while planning a family vacation.  The hubs and I and AK1,2 & 3 absolutely fell in love with it when we stayed there for two weeks last summer. It was a getaway place unlike any we’d been on before.

Away from it all.

Only accessible by ferry. {We packed everything we could… and then some for the first trip over.} Palm_Island Ferry

It’s the shortest ferry ride I’ve ever been on yet we felt world’s away on this tranquil island. {I don’t know about you but that feeling of being totally away is the whole point of  a real vacation in my book.  You too? } You’re “away from it all” there yet, there’s plenty of restaurants, shopping, golf and anything else you might need within 20 minutes of this paradise-found.

Welcome to the Blue Crab on Palm Island.

House Tour A Palm Island BeautyThe Blue Crab is such a lovely light-filled house and that flood of beautiful natural light that follows you in from the outdoors, well, that’s what really captured the essence of our entire vacation stay. Plenty of fresh air, sunshine and sand-between-our-toes.crabThe foyer is a good representation of the entire 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home.

A relaxed and inviting foyerYou feel relaxed and welcome right from the start. The inviting entry has wonderful natural light and the light fixtures and accents offer some sweet eye-candy.

Not easy to find but the best of both worlds…especially if you have little kiddos. :)}

And, that my friends is the close to one very nice long Memorial Day weekend. Here’s to many happy sunshine filled days ahead this summer for you and yours.

So, how do you like to kick off the summertime? Does it involve a day at the beach?Do you have any vacation plans for the summer yet?  Share your thoughts and comments. I love to hear from you.

    Have been to Palm Island and ridden on boat ferry. It is a lovely place. Stay at a place nearby but not on the island. Wonderful
