This was our home for over a decade. A 4 bedroom, 3 bath Traditional Mediterranean in the gated community of Bayshore Reserve in Ballast Point. A typical Florida ‘spec’ house.
We couldn’t have been happier or asked for a better place to live when we relocated from New York in 2000. See, I’m a Tampa girl (born and raised) so it was great to be back in the sunshine. Actually, it took us a whole year (366 days to be exact) of living downtown Tampa in a corporate townhouse and looking every single weekend for the perfect place to settle; with time and patience, we were delighted to move in with our baby girl, AK1, and trusty golden retriever in 2001.The two-story living room painted in Herb Green by Ralph Lauren made an inviting space for entertaining.
We had a lot of good times there: made great friends, brought 2 more healthy baby girls home, AK2 & AK3, and enjoyed many 1st’s!
Painted in Row Boat Blue by Ralph Lauren gave the traditional dining room a more relaxed, casual feel.
Wait for it…(bubble bursting)what? This is supposed to be the debut of the House Tour series and these are the pictures? Alright, I know you’re probably thinking the photos are definitely not the best. And, I totally agree and to be completely honest, it’s hard to believe after all the blood, sweat and cheers we put into our ‘dream home’ these are the photos we got; the ones taken when we put it up to sell after 12 years, no less.
The all white kitchen had a great layout and plenty of space for hanging out.
The perfectionist in me thought shame, shame. But,really? Let’s be real, not perfect. And ” Hey,why not?” You have to start somewhere.
So come on in, make yourself comfortable and take a look around. Here’s wishing I could pour us a nice glass of wine and you could stay awhile.Paint:Cathedral Grey by Ralph Lauren showcased the fireplace and built ins while Maize (also by RL) gave the north facing family room/kitchen area a dose of bright and cheery.
If you look in the back left there, you’ll see part of the banquette I designed and built. (Kind of a funny story how that came to pass.) It maximized storage and comfort in that little eat-in nook though, that’s for sure.

Outside space with shade is a must in Florida!(Enough said.)
Kiwi Green and Hot Pink! One of the cutest color combos for a girl’s bedroom.
Crisp white with splashes of color for the upstairs bathroom kept things clean and simple.
Bubble gum pink walls and a sky blue ceiling were the backdrop for playing “tea party” with American Girl dolls in the extra bedroom upstairs.
Paint: Canvas Luggage by Ralph Lauren ensured the over-sized Master Bedroom felt cozy not cavernous.
Ok, so there you have it! The House Tour Series is on. And, here’s the exciting news: we sold Bayshore Vista (despite the so-so pics) and we moved just before the 2012 holiday season. So y’all will now be witness to the DIY razzmatazz that goes into making our newest abode feel like home.
Oh and, I’ll be sure to get better photos this time. Promise!
Cheers to you and yours
