Who couldn’t use a makeover at some point in time? Am I right? A little pampering and time to unwind leaves you feeling refreshed and new again. Ready to go out and about and get on with life.
I’m not talking about a day at the spa here. This is a DIY Home Decor blog after all and this was a furniture refurb. Plain Jane got a makeover because it was time.
See? So blah. This round wooden table with a curvy iron base was a great find at one of my favorite thrift stores and I knew right when I saw it I just needed to pamper it a little to bring out her best side.
It was a little rough from the wear. I think it must have been out in the elements for awhile. It was very bleached out looking and pretty dirty. But I cleaned her right up with a little Simple Green and sanded her smooth.
And, viola! Jane is not so plain anymore.
I used a stainless steel bowl and large rectangle Tupperware to paint the design. It’s all about the DIY chalk paint and the layering of green and blue and a nice thick coat of wax.
I think the pop of chartruese along the edge gave it a little skip in her step. Kind of like how you feel after a day at the spa.
What do you think? Do you have anything that could use a makeover?
