St. Nick’s secret elves have been busy! very. busy. All thanks to my friend, Dria of Dio Home Improvements for organizing a fun-filled, Secret Santa Tour with a host of awesome bloggers!
So yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here and…
I feel like shouting it from the roof tops!
My secret Santa, Shanna of Restoration Redoux, totally hit the bling on the nose with the adorable, cool sparkly Rudolph, she made for me, don’t you think?!
I love it, Shanna! thank you
So very thoughtful and super creative. Love that girl!
You will too so be sure check out her awesome sauce at Restoration Redoux, stat!
Oh, and here’s what I crafted for my friend, Vanessa of DIY180!
I was going for a White Christmas thing since I know Vanessa’s from up NY.
From being the key word. She’s in the Sunshine State now like me.
Sorry to rub it in all you snowbirds. But hey you can come visit anytime!!!
My Christmas crafty DIY is what I would call almost handmade.
I found this big, chunky, wooden snowflake at HomeGoods and knew I was onto something good but as cute as it was to start I couldn’t just send it as-is. No.
So I used one of my favorite painting techniques on it.
wait for it…
I really have a thing for dry brushing especially using metallic paint. Seriously, I think Modern Masters Silver works wonders on almost anything wood.
A light hand with the tiniest bit of paint and you’re set.
Oh and I also used touch of Island Oasis by Behr for those who are curious.
Dry brushing, try it! You might like it.
Or maybe you already do…I’d love to hear!
To see the finished Snowflake skip on over to Vanessa’s now and check it out at DIY180.
Now grab a cup of hot chocolate (or a cup of Joe) and spend a few minutes visiting the creative bloggers below on the 2014 secret Santa tour.
