The buzz is all around us! Spring Fever has definitely hit here in the sunshine state. It’s no wonder we caught it with all the spring breakers out and about but I’m talking elementary aged kiddos here not the kind we recall from our college days 😉
Spring Fever – The Power of the Flower
Somewhere between all those awesome roller coaster rides and (dare I say) some real good people watching 🙂 it bite me!
The bug, that is!
I was left feeling flushed by the POWER OF THE FLOWER
And, the endless love I’ve always had for bromeliads…
the ever colorful air plant that’s hard (for even me) to kill.
My fever spiked when I saw it…just hanging there with all that awesome ivy.
So lush, tropical and I was really woozy when…
I turned to see these bromeliad beauties so beautifully bordered by those stones.
Fun times and sweet memories with our 3 girls is just what I needed. Feeling refreshed and inspired by all those beautiful flowers had my hands in a new bag of my favorite potting soil. I left our fun filled day together wanting to go play outside with my little gardening bags and tools.
Now I know what you’re thinking, what would a gal in Florida know about the change of seasons?
And who in the heck gets Spring Fever where the average temp for the month of March is right around 70 degrees?
Well I have my stint in the Northeast to thank for my “seasonal experience”. Living where it started snowing on Halloween and it was still snowing on Mother’s Day for 7 (that’s right, 7) very cold winters really ingrained in this Florida-native a true respect for all the seasons.
It was old Mr. Winter that let me into a love affair with sweet and sexy Spring.
Somehow those long, freezing winters when I couldn’t wait a minute longer to see a little sunshine, color sprouting up from the ground or at least not ruin my suede boots in those sloppy slushy piles of brown left over snow…? Those are the memories that stay with me regardless of my planting zone and in spite of my love for roller coasters.
How about you? Are you a theme park lover? Into staycations? I’d love to hear.
