Terrariums are one of my favorite things to give as a gift. They’re something a little different, that’s super easy to create will fit with anyone’s decor or style.
Materials You Will Need:
Activated charcoal pieces
Sheet moss and Pebbles
Spray water bottle
Small garden tools
Start with a good Base
Place 1-2 inches of pebbles on the bottom of the container.
Mix & Add
And, combine remaining charcoal with potting soil to layer in the charcoal/soil mixture as you gently pack the soil (to get rid of any air pockets).
Pretty it Up
Place more soil around your plants using your hands to press plants deep into the soil to cover all plant roots.
The only thing left is to find your creation a good home.
Place your beautiful terrarium where it will be happiest; good indirect sunlight is best.
The coolest part about this DIY is…
its easy-peasy upkeep.
And remember, they make a wonderful gift too.
If you noticed, I had two going in the tutorial pics above. The 2nd one made a special gift for my mother-in-law. It was a nice alternative to her usual Mother’s Day flowers and it has certainly lasted longer. bonus! I’m happy to say it still looking great.
