If you’re looking for a nice stiff shot of Spring before we roll the clocks forward this weekend, I’ve got you covered!
Somehow knowing we miss out on that coveted extra hour of sleep (depending on where you live, of course) makes it seems like a negative but when I think about the longer evenings of soft sunlight we’ll have to relax and enjoy, I have to say I’m really looking forward to it. Especially after the whirlwind of Spring cleaning and redecorating you know I’ve been on lately!
Here’s a cheers to you as we kick back for our Spring break this coming week and the DIY Pretty Pink Vanity Table I made by re-purposing an old, outdated table and a boring bench.
Here’s what she looked like before I realized I’d have to get creative if I was going to fit a vanity in AK2’s bedroom.
Her room is the smallest of the 5 in our house and she really had her heart set on having a dressing table like her older sister has in her cool teen hangout. But that room has some serious space constraints so I had my doubts.
But, alas, the reality of this smaller space it what got me thinking,
“Hey, what if I turned our old console table around and crammed it in the corner? Would that work?”
You talk to yourself like that too, right? 😉
Anyway, I’m glad I gave this crazy idea the old try.
It took less than an hour, 2 cans of Rust-Oleum’s ‘Painters Touch’ in Berry Pink and some of the Modern Masters metallic Silver paint I had left over from a vintage cane back chair redo last summer to make my re-purposed furniture idea fall into place.
I really love it and how the silver dressed up the little chandy and…
…gave the wicker seat of the vanity bench some shimmy shimmer .
But I think my favorite part of this DIY is the snazzy wrapping paper I used under the glass top.
It was that last little step and my friend Mr. Double-Sided tape that ultimately made this Pretty Pink vanity complete.
Don’t you think?
Best of all, my baby girl is loving it!
So, do you have any furniture you’ve re-purposed lately? or would like to? I’d love to hear.
