I heart shiny things especially when it’s furniture! Add a touch of shimmer and you’ll hear my heart skip a beat and these are my DIY tips for a shiny glamorous metallic patina I hope with inspire you to go a little glam with your next paint project.
I paint alot of furniture and whether it’s for my own home or a client’s, I usually find a way to work a bit of shimmer into it, somehow, some way. My obsession with a touch of sparkle could be motivated by the fact that I don’t like a country, crafty look because there’s always a way to easily add a little glam to each piece.
My point is you don’t have to go completely modern to see the benefits of beautiful metallic patina.
Here’s what I know:
Go slow start with just a touch.
A glamorous metallic patina doesn’t have to be just silver or gold. There are a multitude of color choices.
I find layering in different types of metallic paint works best for me. Dry brush, spray paint, glazes. There are so many fabulous shiny choices to get a perfect patina that’s right for you.
